Hello all NetBSD users, enthusiasts/hobbyists, retro gamers.
As 2025 draws to a close, I are reaching out to community with a request for helping The NetBSD Foundation.
Right now, The NetBSD foundation have raised $10,738 of $50,000 goal for the year. The foundation need one final push to help it cross the finish line and fully fund their work for the coming year.
If you donate today, your contribution will directly support critical, tangible projects that keep NetBSD modern, secure, and available to everyone:
=> RISC-V Support: Expanding NetBSD's reach to this new, open-source hardware architecture.
=> Wi-Fi Renewal: A massive, ongoing project to modernize our wireless networking stack, making NetBSD more practical than ever on laptops and embedded devices.
NetBSD isn't just another operating system. It is a vital part of the entire technology ecosystem.
In an age of planned obsolescence, NetBSD is a powerful force for sustainability. Foundation's commitment to running on a vast array of hardware—new and old—helps reduce e-waste. Old laptops and single-board computers that would otherwise be in a landfill are given new life as robust firewalls, file servers, or even retro-gaming machines, all thanks to NetBSD.
The NetBSD foundation need our help to close this $39,262 gap before the year ends.
