Kid Rock used a Friday night appearance on Bill Maher's HBO show to go after Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee in Michigan's Senate race, comparing a candidate he called "well-spoken, even a good-looking guy" to the hijackers who flew planes into the World Trade Center just days before Tuesday's election.

Rock also discussed the Muslim Brotherhood claims against El-Sayed's mother - "something his mother was associated [with] in the '70s, didn't raise him, fair enough" - before calling out what he claimed was a bigger problem - El-Sayed's education "was funded by George Soros" and that, as a college student, El-Sayed wrote an op-ed backing an Egyptian president allied with the Brotherhood who "called on him to purge the police and the media."

He then compared El-Sayed to the 9/11 hijackers.

"And people talk about assimilation too all the time. Right? This man very much is assimilated. Good education, well-spoken, even a good-looking guy. You know who else assimilated very well? Those pieces of sh*t that flew those planes into our World Trade Centers."

Maher is already in the President's sights. As we noted late last month, Trump posted a 1,300-word rant on Truth Social at Maher two days after the comedian defended his second White House dinner with the President on air. Trump has also pressed the attack on El-Sayed directly, telling a Tennessee rally on Oct. 10 that "to me, he's Mohamed. And he's a radical jihadist," according to IBTimes, which noted that the jihadist label is Trump's accusation and not an established fact.

Rock's comments land days after a major defection from El-Sayed's own party. As we noted yesterday, Rep. Haley Stevens, who lost the August Democratic primary to El-Sayed and then endorsed him, switched her endorsement to Republican Mike Rogers - attending church services with him in Detroit, two days before the election.

Stevens had called on El-Sayed on Oct. 30 to condemn an anti-Israel ad from Rebellion PAC, an outside group not affiliated with his campaign, which blamed high grocery prices on U.S. aid to Israel. El-Sayed answered that Stevens "seems intent on relitigating a primary that ended three months ago."

The attacks have so far not moved the polls in Rogers' favor. A Glengariff Group poll for WDIV and the Detroit News, fielded Oct. 19-22 among 600 likely voters, had El-Sayed at 51.4 percent to Rogers' 45.1 percent, a margin of 6.3 points against a 4-point error margin. As we reported earlier this month, an undercover video from O'Keefe Media Group had already put the El-Sayed campaign in damage control over a field organizer's claim that the candidate takes overseas donations.

El-Sayed has said he does not hold the view that America deserved the 9/11 attacks, calling streamer Hasan Piker's remark to that effect a "dumb statement," according to CBS12. We did not find a response from his campaign to Rock's remarks.
